# Government Community Cloud (GCC)

Microsoft Government Community Cloud (GCC) is a Microsoft cloud environment designed for US federal, state, local, and tribal government organizations, as well as contractors that manage government data.

GCC provides services such as Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 in an environment that supports government-specific security, compliance, and data residency requirements.

Unlike standard commercial offerings, GCC environments are physically isolated from commercial cloud infrastructure, providing enhanced security measures, specialized compliance certifications, and robust controls tailored to government requirements.

### Key features

GCC is designed to help organizations meet government requirements through:

* Support for FedRAMP Moderate compliance requirements.
* Support for Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) policies.
* Support for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
* Support for IRS 1075 requirements.
* Data residency within the United States.
* Separation from commercial cloud environments.
* Operational controls designed for government workloads.

### Eligibility

Before purchasing GCC subscriptions, ensure that your organization is eligible for GCC services and meets Microsoft's requirements for government cloud offerings.

GCC services are intended for:

* US federal government agencies.
* State, local, and tribal government organizations.
* Approved government contractors that process or store government data.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.platform.softwareone.com/extensions/microsoft-cloud-solution-provider/products-and-programs/microsoft-gcc.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
