This tutorial shows how to cancel your AWS subscription by placing a termination order for the specific subscription.
An AWS subscription can be canceled if you no longer require an AWS account through SoftwareOne. This can be done by unlinking the account from your AWS organization. You can unlink all or selected accounts. For instance, if you have an AWS organization with SoftwareOne containing five linked accounts, and you want to remove all or only one of those five accounts, you can unlink the account from the SoftwareOne organization.
Before unlinking accounts, ensure the following:
Your AWS account has up-to-date credit card details or another acceptable payment method listed in its AWS console. This is required by AWS. See to learn more.
The status of the AWS subscription is active within the Marketplace Platform.
To unlink an AWS account:
Navigate to the Subscriptions page in the Marketplace Platform.
Select the AWS subscription you want to terminate.
On the subscription details page, select the arrow and choose Terminate.
In the Terminate subscription wizard, do the following:
AWS details - Choose Unlink account, then select Next.
Items - Check that the new quantity field displays the value as 0. When done, select Next.
Details - Enter the reference information as needed. Select Next.
Review - Select Place order to finalize your order.
Summary - Select View order to navigate to the order details page. Otherwise, select Close.
The SoftwareOne Operations team will contact you to assist with the steps involved in unlinking your account. Meanwhile, you can keep track of the termination order and view the latest status message on the order details page.
