Terminate Subscriptions

This tutorial shows how to cancel Microsoft subscriptions by placing a termination order for the specific subscription. In this tutorial, we'll terminate a Microsoft 365 subscription, but you can follow these steps for any product.

Prerequisites

Before starting this tutorial, make sure that the subscription you want to terminate is active. The status of the agreement must also be Active

You must also be familiar with how to navigate the platform to view and manage your subscriptions.

Terminating a subscription

Navigate to the Subscriptions page

The Subscriptions page is located under Marketplace in the main navigation menu. The page displays all subscriptions within your account.

Open the relevant subscription

Select the subscription you want to terminate.

Then, on the subscription details page, select the arrow and choose Terminate to launch the Terminate Subscription wizard.

Follow the steps in the wizard

Follow all steps in the Terminate Subscription wizard, ensuring that the required information is entered or verified on each page.

  1. Items - Check that the new quantity field displays the value as 0. When done, select Next.

  2. Details - Enter the reference information as needed, then select Next

  3. Review - Select Place order. A termination order is created for the subscription and submitted to the vendor for processing.

  4. Summary - Select View order to navigate to the order details page. Otherwise, select Close.

Next steps

When your order is being processed, the subscription and the agreement will be displayed as Updating. You won't be able to place any additional orders under this agreement.

Once the termination order has been processed, the status of the subscription will change to Terminated.
